Getting bigger!

This past week has been a busy one! Kayden has been doing great with his babysitter Megan and new buddy, Nash. Nash is very curious when it comes to Kayden and he wants to help out whenever possible! He helps feed Kayden, plays with him, and even throws away his dirty diapers :) Its super adorable! And Megan is great with both of the boys! We are sooooo glad that this set up is working out!

Kayden is getting bigger and stronger each and every day. He's got some serious muscle in his legs (future soccer player?), his head control is definately improving and he is starting to talk more and more. Its fun to watch him grow. And he is starting to outgrow certain outfits, however its seems to be the ones he hasn't worn yet!

Here is my super cute outfit from yesterday

Looking forward to the holiday weekend.....we are celebrating Fri/Sat to coordinate with Daddy's schedule, but its worth it! Daddy has switched to working evenings so our time with him is limited and super special. Hope you all have a great 4th of July and we hope to see you soon!

Playing with Daddy

I must share this picture.....
Kayden and I were playing last night and we felt like bugging daddy. So I decided to put Kayden on daddy's shoulders.

Kayden just curled around daddy's head!! It was soooo stinkin cute!!

We are five weeks old and having a blast! Come visit!

Back to work

Back to work I go....

I was definately looking forward to my maternity leave and spending time with Brett and Kayden. I LOVED every second of it! The only down fall is that it went by quickly and I ran out of paid leave :( Big bummer...
So last week I went back to work on Thursday and Friday, Brett had off so he and Kayden got some time together. Yesterday my parents were in town so they kept him all morning and I took the afternoon off. Its been nice to leave Kayden with family, but we knew it was going to end....
Thankfully Brett and I were blessed with an opportunity to not put Kayden in a daycare but to share an in home babysitter! One of my co-workers, Amy Jo, has a 15month old little boy, Nash, and he stays at home with his babysitter Megan. Amy Jo was kind enough to open her home and Megan was open to taking on a second child. So we all met yesterday to go over details and set everything up. Megan is super sweet and she is really great with Nash. Brett and I are both very comfortable with her and we feel that she is going to be great with Kayden too! And Amy Jo is wonderful for opening up her home to everyone. So Kayden and Nash get to be buddies, which is wonderful. I'm sooooo thankful that we didn't have to send Kayden to daycare just yet, we would so much rather him get some personalized attention and this is the perfect route! And to add to it, Brett is going to keep him on his days off which is wonderful.

Today was the first day to drop off Kayden and I'm just full of mixed emotions. I am completely comfortable with Megan and trust that she is going to take great care of him and Nash. But at the same time the mom in me has kicked in and I want to call like every 5 minutes to see how he is doing. Currently I've made it 3 hours and have yet to call.....I'll probably text her soon though....hahahaha There are no words to really explain how I feel, but I know that over time it will get easier. Maybe I can one day be a stay at home mom, but now just isn't the right time. Until then.....we'll stick with the current plan. I'll post a picture soon so you can meet Megan and Nash. :-)

The Janway Family visits

This past weekend the Janway family came to visit!!! Mom, Dad and Rebecca drove down from Michigan, Sarah and Paul came up from Texas and Katie (she's already in Stillwater). It was fun to have everyone together, although the weekend was short we had a great time. Kayden got passed around to everyone and thankfully he was really good!

Aunt Rebecca LOVES to hold Kayden

Grandma couldn't get enough snuggle time

Grandpa waited patiently until everyone else had held him (3 days....)

Sunday everyone except for Paul and Katie traveled to Muskogee to visit Grandma Joann. I haven't been there in a loooong time, but it really hasn't changed. We spent the afternoon visiting with Grandma Joann and Uncle Jack. It was great to catch up.

Great Grandma Joann

Sarah likes to imitate Kayden or as she calls him 'Donut'

Paul and Kayden had some deep conversations...

Katie even got some time....although she gave him back as soon as he fussed

Then back to Stillwater to relax for the evening. Monday morning Mom, Dad and Rebecca got to babysit while Brett and I went to work. They definately enjoyed that!
Too bad the visit wasn't longer, but it was great to see everyone. I think Brett and I are planning a trip up north this coming December. I can't wait...its been 2.5yrs since I've been back. And by then Kayden will be crawling and will give his grandparents a workout! Thanks for visiting!!!
