My children are crazy

My children are nuts. You can judge for yourself, but I think they are crazy....

Yup. Crazy.

Do what makes you happy

The past couple of months have been a whirl. A lot of changes, a lot of feelings, its all been good, just overwhelming at times. I try to take things one day at a time, but its not always possible. I like to plan things.... I'm learning to let go and let God. I can't control everything and its ok. It's a good challenge.

The kids definitely keep me busy. They require the majority of my attention and demand most of my time. I love them more than anything, and knowing I am their mom is one of the best feelings in the world! I'm thankful that I've been blessed with these two.

Brett and I have decided to work on our relationship and try to make things work. At times it's a little awkward with our past, but the majority of the time he just makes me happy. We've had a rough year and we are working through things. Counseling is helping us and our goal each day is to be completely open and honest. Not always the easiest thing to do, but its the best. He has moved in with me and we are dedicated to each other and our family. It has been nice to finally have the chance to make things work. And although it can be one step forward, two steps back....I wouldn't have it any other way.

So our focus this year is to just be happy. To not care what others think and to do what makes us happy. We have a great support system behind us, amazing children before us and a God who loves us and will lead us where he wants us to be. Blessed beyond measure.

Feeling better

After a full week of a sick baby, little miss E started acting like herself on Saturday. However on the flipside of things......K and I got the cough, congestion and snot. So needless to say we spent the weekend barricaded inside, snuggled and started medicines. Thankfully it was just a cold and we were both able to kick it fairly quick. Brett never got it. Lucky duck. So we are finally a healthy family again.

Little miss E is growing every single day! I think right now we are in a growth spurt, because it seems like this child could eat and eat and eat some more! We are increasing the amount of formula she is on and adding more solid foods! She has also finally cut 2 more teeth! Her top two poked through this weekend. So watch your fingers!!

Kayden is my little turd, but I wouldn't change him for the world. He had a dentist appointment a week ago. He got x-rays and did really good. He didn't like the vibrations that the electric toothbrush made, but we survived. We've also had some really nice days and have been able to go to various parks and play with our friends! We are enjoying the warm days and wishing the snow and cold go away for the spring.

Cool dude got to watch a movie on the ceiling

Sick little E

This sweet girl is sick.
Monday she came home with a fever.
Tuesday she spent the day with a fever and at a family friends house.
Wednesday she spent the morning with daddy and a visit to the dr.....
Tested negative for the flu. Positive for RSV. Ugh.
Thankfully its not in her lungs, so no medication and we just have to let it run its course.
Today she is with me at home.

Oh yeah....and RSV can last 1-3 weeks. And the added bonus....she's getting not one, but four teeth.

So I'm spending my time with a snuggly, snotty, fussy baby.

School Pictures

We all know that school pictures can go one of two ways.
Really good or just plain awkward.

This year for school pictures, daycare hired a new company. Here was my experience:
1. They provided odd frilly costumes for the kids. ... yeah no thanks. I'll dress my child in a normal outfit. This isn't glamorshots.
2. The photographer was a male with a deep voice. ... that wouldn't have been a problem except I kept hearing that his deep voice was scaring all the kids which wasn't allowing him to get good shots.
3. They had a substitute teacher in with the photographer. ... good idea to have a teacher, however use the sub to fill in the class room and allow the regular teacher to take the kids to the photographer. That way the teacher can assist in making the child smile! Nope the kids were uncomfortable with a sub and uncomfortable with the photographer. Great.....
4. Previews. ... This was the BEST part of this company. They had proofs the same day for you to view. No waiting a month to view. Awesome!
5. Cost. ... Pictures are expensive. I get that. However I think $39.99 plus tax for ONE sheet of pictures is RIDICULOUS!!!! It was the cheapest option! The rest of the "packages" were minimum $150 and just kept going up! Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!!! Needless to say I purchased ONE sheet of 8 wallets. That way everyone could have one. Thankfully they gave 2 free gifts with a purchase. An 8x10 and 6 free christmas cards. Well I cut the pictures out of the christmas cards, so I would have a few 3x5. Not joking.

Needless to say this company sucked and I sincerely hope that daycare does NOT bring them back.

Oh and here's the only picture they could get of both my children together. I guess its one for the scrapbook!

Janway Family Fun

It's always a good time when we get the whole Janway family together. Sometimes it can be overwhelming but most of the time we have a blast. I'm thankful the whole family got to come for a week and my parents got to spend some quality time with the kids. Its hard having them so far away.

We got matching pj's

Kayden said there were fishies in my wine....he kept wanting to look at them....

RahRah even helped out!

Papa is a good playmate

What else do you put in a dumptruck???!!!!

Aunt Ecca loves her Emery!

it was even nice enough to play outside!

And Papa fixed spaghetti that E got to try =)

I love my family!!! Even when we're driving each other crazy. There's nothing better than family.

Christmas with the Palmers

After spending Christmas morning at our house, we packed up and headed to Edmond to do Christmas with the Palmers.

First stop Marnie's house :)

And someone needed nap time, so I got some serious snuggles :)

Then it was off to OB and Lanny's house :)

These kids made out like bandits!!!!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!! Love, Brett, Rachel, Kayden and Emery
