My bubble baby

Little Mr. Kayden absolutely LOVES bubble baths! Bath time is always fun and messy (well at least for mom!) Kayden has learned to lay on his belly but didn't really like to roll over onto his back. I think the water in his ears felt weird. Well.... things have changed. He no longer lays on his belly but lays straight back and thinks its the funniest thing in the world! He's a goof! Here's our latest bath adventure.... (and yes mom the video is G rated)

Block Party!

Last week our apartment complex had a little block/pool party to officially welcome its residents to the complex. They had door prizes, food, the pool (which was freezing cold), and then they rented two inflatables. One was a giant water slide, and the other was a giant slip-n-slide. Kayden was in HEAVEN!!! He couldn't wait to go on both and we had to pry him off when it was over! I wasn't feeling so good, so thankfully Brett stepped up to the plate and took Kayden on a wild ride!

The slip-n-slide I didn't get any pictures of.... but when all the big kids were done Kayden and Brett were left to their own devices. Kayden didn't quite get the point of sliding on your stomach, but he did enjoy trying to run down it. Running on an inflatable is hard work!

The water slide was his favorite! Luckily when we got there, there were some big kids on it, so we had the chance to see it in action first. That sucker was FAST! Kayden would have broken something if Brett hadn't of held on as tight as he did. After a couple of times Brett had the landing down to a science (the pictures prove it!). It was a blast to watch them play together and Kayden enjoyed every moment!

Each time they went down, we counted 1, 2, 3, GO!

WEEEEEEEE!!!!

Again!! Again!! Again!!!

Here we go!

Here comes the tricky part.....

Step 1: Twist....

Step 2: Hit wall...

Step 3: Recover!
(I think they went down the slide at least 25 times!)

Catching up

Its fun going from a boring and slow week to a crazy busy fun filled one!

It all started last Thursday when we went grocery shopping. We saw the OKC Thunder's mascot Rumble's car in front of the store. Well sure enough, Rumble was inside!! He was signing autographs and taking pictures! We walked over and Kayden seemed interested until we got closer and then he kept saying go and pointing the other way! I guess he's not a fan of a life size silly buffalo? Brett still picked him up and took him over for a picture. You can see Kayden's excitement in his face...

Signing his picture...

I guess I can take it .... as long as you don't touch me...

RUMBLE!!! (Kayden was still saying go...)

Then Friday night Brett had to work soccer overtime, so Kayden and I were going to grab dinner and go visit. But it started misting and got cold, so we just ended up having pizza and going back home.

My cute dinner date!

He even brought his own entertainment!

And Saturday was game day at OSU, which meant Brett was STILL at work! But we decided to go visit, because in the tailgate area they were having a motocross group come and perform. So we got up, put on our bike socks and headed to tailgate... and to our surprise.... Brett was in the same area as the bikes, so we got to see him for a little bit!!! Kayden loved the motocross bikes! They did all sorts of jumps and tricks mid air. Pretty awesome.

After that was over Brett had to continue his patrol, so Kayden and I headed out to lunch :) I love dates with my little man! We enjoyed some McAlisters where I taught him how to drink his applesauce...hehehe and since we were out we stopped by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some yummy desert! Kayden got a chocolate shaped choo-choo train.

Love this turd!

Then we headed home and enjoyed a quiet afternoon with a Cowboy win!

Sunday and Monday were quiet. Monday I did get this adorable picture from Kayden's teacher at daycare.....I guess he enjoyed his lunch!

Tuesday I had another ultrasound :) I love seeing my baby! Baby was being a little difficult. This ultrasound was for genetic testing, so baby needed to be in a specific position in order to get a proper reading. After 45 minutes, lots of poking and moving around baby finally did what the technician wanted it do. Although I'll admit I didn't mind 45 minutes of watching my little one :) We'll get the test results in a couple of weeks, but so far baby looks perfectly healthy! It actually looks like a baby now!

Can I quit???

There are days that I just want to quit lately! There is a lot of crap for this working, hormonal, nauseaus momma to handle and I think I'm just about to my breaking point. Here's a little update:

Kayden is a joy to have. He's growing so much each day and I absolutely love to watch him learn and figure things out on his own. He gets so proud of himself and he wants to make us proud! I'm so lucky to have him around. =) Thankfully he's very good at playing by himself, with my morning sickness I'm not the funnest person to play with. He's getting really good at playing by himself or bringing the toys closer to me so we can play together. Its sweet. He's talking more and is able to express himself and communicate what he wants better.

My little turkey eatting grapes =)

Love this ornery face!

Brett is working nights and it works really well for us. He comes home just in time to see us out the door, sleeps while we are gone, hangs out with us in the evening and leaves right at bedtime. His days off have even changed and surprisingly he has Saturday/Sunday nights off! We can actually have a weekend together! Except when its a football weekend.....but we're not complaining about that overtime. ;)

I'm working my normal hours with a little too much to do at work. We are down a supervisor which means my work load is overwhelming at times. School has been good. I realized with my increased work load and horrible morning sickness that it was smarter to take a short leave of absence and return when things have settled down and I have more control. As far as the morning sickness (or should I say all day sickness) is concerned, I'm hoping my doctor will have some insight on Friday. Physically I'm not sure how much more I can handle. Its just taking a toll on me and my body. My only symptoms are the nausea, headaches and dizziness which are technically all "normal". My body doesn't agree with me being pregnant though! 28 weeks left! Just.....keep.....swimming......

Baby #2
How far along: 12weeks 2days
Total weight gain: -18
Best moments this month: I made it out of the first trimester
Food cravings: Depends on the day/time/how I feel.....its ridiculous
Gender: Not visible yet!
Labor signs: none
What I miss: Feeling normal
What I am looking forward to: Praying the morning sickness goes away quickly and quietly
Milestones: Baby is the size of a plum.

Looking to the future..... with things ever changing at our house we've had several conversations about what we want and where we want to live. We know that Stillwater isn't our forever home, but its a great stepping stone. We've agreed on staying in Stillwater until November 2013, as I will become vested in my 401k. Brett just received a raise with OSU, so he will be staying with them as well. Until then we exploring our options and following our hearts. I can't wait to see what will happen!

KK Visits!!!

So I might be a couple weeks late on this post, but whatever.

KK came to visit over labor day weekend and it was great!! Despite a couple days of morning sickness (thanks for putting up with me!) we enjoyed some shopping, my birthday, tailgate, and plenty of play time with Kayden!!! Here's her visit in pictures/videos.....

First we picked up this girl from the airport!!

Then we had cupcakes for mom's birthday!

LOVE CUPCAKES!!!

But with red icing we needed a bubble bath!

Then we spent part of the day on the couch due to someone's morning sickness.....

We snuggled up and watched a movie

We bought a backpack and packed it full of fun for tailgate!

But we needed a quick nap before we went to tailgate...

We even got to play with Aunt Sarah at tailgate!!!

It was hott at tailgate so KK and Kayden went to the car to cool down.....

After tailgate we got ice cream!!!

I didn't eat it!

The next night we learned "the claw"!

Show me daddy!

THE CLAW!!!

Then we chased KK for a popsicle....

And daddy played Elmo on Kinect!

And the next day someone got a haircut which meant a cupcake for being good!

It was a great weekend with KK and Aunt Sarah! Can't wait for the next tailgate!
