Memorial Day weekend

So for the holiday weekend, the only plans we had were to visit Kim and the kids on Monday. Well....the weather turned out absolutely perfect and we ended up with little trips every day! I love spending quality time with my babies.

Saturday Brett was working a safety expo, and so we decided to check it out. It was pretty cool! They had firetrucks, ambulances, ATV's, a boat, and 2 helicopters, along with all of the safety personnel for each of them. Kayden was in heaven! We spent about an hour and he just walked from one to another, to another. Brett was there with the lake patrol boat, so Kayden was able to climb inside the boat and check it out with daddy. Pretty cool!

Love the firetrucks!

Playing on daddy's boat

Sunday we woke up and the weather was cool and overcast, so I just randomly decided to hit up the zoo! Perfect idea! The overcast skies meant all the animals were outside, Kayden is the perfect age to walk around and check things out, and little miss slept almost the entire time. It was fabulous! And then when we got home, the sun peaked out and we set up our little pool and water table and just enjoyed the afternoon!

I guess we wore K out....

Monday we went back to Edmond to visit with Kim, Kaitlyn, Jacob and Mike. Its always fun at Kim's house. Kim and I had a great time just visiting and the kids play well together. We had lunch at McDonalds and let the kids run around, randomly decided to test drive a car for Kim and just enjoyed the day. And thanks to Mike, we were able to capture E's smile on camera!!!!
Then we came back to Stillwater and had dinner with Barb, Kelly and their kids. Dinner was fantastic, as was the wine. And Kayden loves Zach and Noah, and Barb and Kelly got to hold little miss E.

That smile melts my heart!

She loved Mike!

Overall a fantastic weekend!

And definitely thankful for my freedom.
And even more so thankful for those we have fought, are fighting and will fight for our freedoms. Thank you!

First week of daycare for E

Last week was our first official week of having two babies in daycare! It was a slightly bittersweet moment for me....and then I looked at my bank account and got over it! Yikes! But its not too high for the care of my sweet babies!

Emery had a decent week. Day 1 was rough due to Emery prefering to sleep on her belly. Daycare can't allow that until she can roll over on her own, so we have had to train her how to sleep on her back. Surprisingly she has switched fairly easily. We swaddle her in her sleep sack and then wrap her up in a blanket. She stays nice and warm and is content on her back! YEAH!!!

She has also started sleeping through the night! She goes down between 9 -10p and stays down until between 5-6a! This girl rocks. She definitely knows what mom needs. I love my baby girl.

However.....the week did have an interesting ending. E's doctor had thought she had thrush at her 2 month checkup. It wasn't, but Friday daycare thought she had thrush too. So after a short visit to the dr, we confirmed that it was thrush! So after a quick round of gelatin violet, purple became our favorite color!

Purple!

After feeding #1...we looked like a smurf!

But a purple pacifier hides the evidence well.

Now the new daycare change is Kayden is in a new classroom! He wasn't the happiest when I dropped him off this morning, but he calmed down once I left. All of his friends transfered too, and he's been in Ms. Sandy's class before so I am not concerned. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be an easier drop off.

He tried to put his shorts on by himself.....he got both legs through one hole. It totally looked like a mini skirt! And the hand on the hip goes perfect! LOL

Happy 30th Brett!

Yesterday was Brett's 30th Birthday! He wasn't too keen on the idea of turning 30, but the kids and I wanted to make him feel special no matter what. So we let the birthday boy choose and he opted for pizza and a night in. So pizza it was! But we did surprise him with a cookie that had the number 30 in sprinkles =) and since 30 candles were a tad too many, we opted for just one. Of which Kayden blew it out three times.

Kayden would have blown the candle out all night if we would have kept lighting it

a 30 cookie!

Happy Birthday daddy!

Daddy do a push up!

Gotta burn that cookie off!

And this is how the night ended....no pants and a bumbo on our head.

Happy 30th Brett!!!!
We hope it was a great day!!!

Emery at 2 months

Last week my sweet little girl was 2 months old. Is that possible?!?!

Emery is the sweetest little thing. She is super affectionate. Loves to be held. Burps like a champ. Is starting to smile. Sleeps well at night. Loves to snuggle. Can roll almost on her side. Prefers to sleep on her belly. Hates the bottle, but loves the boob. And can simply melt your heart.

She also has a big brother who adores her! He loves to give her kisses, hugs, help put her pacifier in, can calm her down when she's crying, and just wants her to be near him. He's such a proud big brother and I absolutely love it.

At 2months we had a checkup.
Stats:
12lb 14oz - 90th percentile
23 1/2in - 90th percentile
She's slightly chubby, but so stinkin cute! Everything else looked perfect. Sweet girl had to get three shots and an oral vaccine. But she got through it, just slightly fussy for two days.

Brother Kayden also had his 3 year checkup!
Stats:
35lbs - 75th percentile
38 1/4in - 75th percentile
He even got his blood pressure taken. He was a champ! Getting him a dr kit when Emery was born helped because he understood what was going on. He's right where he's supposed to be. Now its just time to make him a dentist appointment. Oh and potty train him.........

God has blessed me!

What else?
