It's HOTT!

Oklahoma isn't all that bad, but when you have 12 consecutive days of 100+ temperatures and a forecast that shows no sign of relief for the next 7-10 days.....well you find ways to stay cool or hole up inside your house. This weekend we did just that.

Friday when we got home, the sprinkler was positioned so that we either had to get wet to get to the apartment or walk around the entire building....needless to say we got wet. Kayden loves the sprinkler!

Random: this tree is just outside our apartment and everytime Kayden see's it he says "uh oh". Its precious!

Saturday morning Andrea and Reagan came over and we headed to the pool for some much needed relief. The kids had a blast! Reagan wanted to test the limits of where she could walk and Kayden was rambunctious as ever. Thankfully it wasn't super hott yet, so we were able to actually enjoy ourselves.

The rest of the weekend was spent indoors with the exception of church and the grocery store. Luckily we had the olympics to keep us entertained!

Silly faces with mom!

Nap time!

And yesterday after work, we decided since it was 111 degrees outside that we deserved some ice cream!!!!

YUM!!!

And since I didn't keep alot of notes about my pregnancy with Kayden (other than I was sick as crap), I'm going to try to do a little more with baby #2!

How far along: 6 weeks! Get to see the doctor in 2!

Total weight gain: -2 (the only negative sign I'll see for awhile!)
Best moments this month: Finding out and sharing with friends and family
Food cravings: nothing yet....
Gender: No clue.....check back in November
Labor signs: negative ghost rider
What I miss: being able to have a glass of wine! ;)
What I am looking forward to: my doctors appointment and hopefully hearing the heatbeat!
Milestones: Baby is the size of a sweet pea and has eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. The heart is also beating twice as fast as mine!

A Fun Filled Weekend

So this weekend I decided to take Friday off and extend my weekend. So the plan was Kim and Jacob were going to come up to Stillwater, we were going to pick peaches (there's an OSU farm that does research and then opens their gates to the public), after peaches we were thinking a swim. Sounds fun right?
Well we meet up, head to the peach farm and they are closed due to weather???!!!!! Are you kidding me??!!! Its only 90 degrees and your only open from 8a-12noon. Whatever. Guess peaches are out of the question. So we ventured back up to Stillwater, drove around to let Kayden nap, enjoyed lunch and then headed over to the pool to let the boys burn off some energy :) We had a blast! Hopefully the peach farm will open back up this week and I'll pick peaches and take them down to Kim!

Hey boys....up here!

Perfect!!!

Friday evening Brett had off work, so we called some friends and met up for dinner! At dinner there was a balloon guy making balloons for the kids....he made an Elmo for a table near us and Kayden went crazy! So the guy made Kayden an Elmo!! He loved it!!!

Kayden and Elmo

Look at my ELMO!!!

After dinner, we talked everyone into going to a place called Elevation Trampoline Park. Its basically a huge building filled with trampolines. There is a kids section, basketball and dodgeball court, the main jump area and a foam pit. We weren't sure if everyone would have fun, but it was AWESOME!!! I think the "big" kids had more fun than Kayden! Definitely a place we will go again (but only with proper stretching for the "big" kids)...hahahahaha

Jump with me!!!

Daddy and Nathan are tired....

I'm gonna jump over you!

Lets jump!!

Seriously the best idea ever!!!

Saturday we got up and did some Krazy Dayz shopping in Stillwater. I think the best purchase we made was a sucker....

It had Mater teeth!!!!

The rest of the weekend was spent inside avoiding the 105degree heat!!!

Popcorn

Popsicles

And with Brett on nights....I kinda like waking up to this sleeping face :)

Have a fabulous week!

Splash Pad Fun!

This weekend Kayden and I didn't feel like staying at home (ok fine, mom didn't want to stay at home). So Saturday we packed up the car and went to visit Kim and Jacob! (and Mike was there too). We hung out at the house and decided we were going to go to the splash pad. Well 2 little 2year olds decided otherwise. They were getting hungry, so after Kim packed an awesome picnic lunch, we unpacked and ate at the house. Then Jacob seemed tired, so we left him with Mike to take a nap and Kim, Kayden and I drove around town looking at houses. I have no idea where to start when it comes to buying a home, but thankfully Kim and Mike still have it pretty fresh in their minds, so they were a big help! (I forgot to take pictures but we had fun!)

I'll insert this picture instead....someone found out how much fun a ring pop is!

Sunday we decided to head down to perkins and check out their splash pad. Kayden loved it!!! I think we might have to work in a two week rotation with this! :)

Sooooo much fun!

All that splashing wore this kid out!

Like father, like son.

What's that?

I just got this adorable picture from Kayden's daycare teacher....here's out conversation:

Me: what's that??

Teacher: Green paint. We painted with veggies today and he tried eating the bell pepper

Me: Hahahaha that's Kayden

Teacher: I kept telling him no its yucky bc of the paint so he wiped it across is face instead. It wasn't helping that I was laughing so it made it worse

Gotta love my crazy 2 year old :)

A quiet weekend

After a long week we played it pretty low key this weekend. We did a little grocery shopping, built an awesome fort, made some chex mix, watched Alvin and the Chipmunks - Chipwrecked, and just relaxed at home. It was nice to not make plans, stay in our pajamas and take the weekend off.

Our awesome fort!!

Keeping little man occupied while mom makes dinner

Chex mix!!! Best snack ever!!!

Last night when we were getting ready for bed, Kayden wanted to sleep in mommy's bed. How could I resist that face??? He's not the best cuddler but he sure is cute!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th of July!!! We hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday! Here's how ours went.....

First we had to get our 4th of July attire on.... I got Kayden this really cool shirt! He loved it!!!

He wasn't cooperating on taking a cute picture....so......

I screamed! Lol....hence the look on his face but he looked at the camera! hahahah

Then we decided to go to the city....
Kayden took a nap on the way!

First stop, the mall! We got some pretzels (dad's favorite) and took a pit stop. Kayden didn't want the pretzels but he made himself comfortable with the drink.
Love this kid!

Close to where we were there was a mini merry-go-round. It had 3 little objects to ride on. Kayden got in and we started it, but he didn't quite understand that you stay on one for the whole ride. He kept jumping off at dad to switch what object he rode on. Ha!

I love this! But.....

Can I got sit on that one?

The mall wore us out and Brett hadn't gotten alot of sleep so he was a tad bit grumpy. So we decided to head back to Stillwater. We dropped dad off to get some rest and Kayden and I headed over to Boomer lake for some fun!

They had inflatables of which Kayden spent lots of time doing the obstacle course. Then we played on the playground some and finally found AmyJo and her son Nash. Perfect! Those two ran around chasing each other for about an hour! Thank goodness! By the time they were done it was time for the fireworks! Kayden didn't seem too interested, but he didn't mind them. He watched when he wasn't playing with his glow stick =)

Fireworks!

Happy 4th!

Halfway through 2012!

Halfway through this year already??!!! Time is flying by!

We've had a fun end to our week and weekend....Lots of pictures and videos...so enjoy!

Last weekend we visited Marnie and Kayden got to play with glow sticks before we left. Here he is on the ride home...

Can you find Kayden??

And when we need a break....you can always mesmerize him with cars!

While dinner was cooking my boys decided to play with gummy worms....

Silly boys

Kayden is a silly little boy!

Saturday we played outside in our kiddie pool and then Kayden wanted to play with his lawn mower....

Sunday morning daddy brought us donuts for breakfast!! Yum!

Thank you daddy!

Yummy breakfast!

Then after lunch we went over to Theta pond to see the ducks!

These ducks had just been fed....they thought Kayden would have more!

And then there was this duck. King Duck I think....he was a little too friendly for my comfort. They all were a little too friendly.

And then Sunday evening after a fun weekend. I'm on the couch, Brett is in the bedroom and I turn around to find this. He did it all by himself.
I love my quirky little child!

Have a safe week and enjoy your 4th of July!!!!
