Family Portraits

To capture our little man's moments and first, our plan is to have pictures taken at 3mo, 6mo, 9mo and a year. This past weekend, we had our favorite photographer Mrs. Andrea Skimbo with Pitas Pictures take some family portraits as well as shots of Kayden. Andrea surprised me yesterday and had the family portraits done!!! So here are some of our favorites! (ps....you'll get yours in the mail soon =)  )

New Babysitters

YEAH!!!!!!!!! After several long weeks of wondering what to do and exploring a variety of options everything has worked out!! The only big change is that we are no longer sharing babysitters, AmyJo and I have decided to go our seperate ways. But we have playdates scheduled :), which means our new sitters are coming to our house, Kayden doesn't have to leave his current environment and we have a little more flexibility in what we do.

Ashley and Delaina are the new babysitters, one for Monday/Wednesday/Friday and another for Tuesday/Thursday. Both are students at OSU (go Pokes!!!) and are absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad that both applied and things worked out. They are very warm, friendly, both are great with Kayden and I'm comfortable trusting them which is the biggest part!! And Kayden is just as happy as can be! Couldn't ask for more =) =) =)

Texas Trip

Over the weekend Katie, Kayden and I packed up the car and headed to Texas to visit Sarah & Paul. We had a fabulous weekend just relaxing and hanging out. And Kayden is a fairly great travel buddy! (although it messed up his sleep schedule for the past couple of nights.....but he's getting back to normal!) We had a great time and maybe next time Brett can join us! Here are some pics from the trip...

Route 66 Road Trip

This past weekend, Kayden, Andrea and I packed up the car and got our "kicks on route 66". We started in Arcadia, OK and wound our way northwest while enjoying the scenic route! We visited the following towns: Arcadia, Luther, Wellston, Chandler, Stroud, Bristow, Kellyville, Sapulpa, Tulsa, Catoosa, Claremore, Foyil, Chelsea and Vinita...whew! We almost made it to the border but it was 107 degrees and we were worn out. The whole purpose of the trip was for Andrea, who is a photographer, to get some Oklahoma red dirt pictures. It was a great trip and we all had a fabulous time despite the heat! Here are some of the pics from the trip, courtesy of Photographer Andrea Skimbo (check out http://www.pitaspictures.com/ )

The Round Barn (Arcadia, OK) Did you know that people thought the round barn would be tornado proof?

The second floor of the round barn....the ceiling was amazing!!!!

This was at a neat little bike museum along the way.....(around Luther/Wellston, OK)

We are 3 months old!!!

The past three months have been life changing and a wonderful learning experience. Kayden is such a happy baby and we are so lucky to have him! You can already tell he is going to be a strong, independent boy. =)

Tummy Time

As much as Kayden dislikes tummy time, he is improving at it. Most days we last about 5 minutes before he gets fussy and frustrated, where as others we can go ten minutes and still be happy! But even a little time is better than no time. Gotta get those biceps strong! (Although his legs are stronger than his arms....but isn't that normally how it is wiht a soccer player?)

Its not sooo bad......

Kayden is gearing up for his first mini-road trip this Saturday. He's coming with me and my friend Andrea to explore historic Route 66 in northeast Oklahoma. We're going so Andrea can take pictures of "red dirt Oklahoma". Hopefully Kayden will be a good travel buddy. :-)

New Couches

So after spending many nights with little man on the couch, I decided that we needed softer, comfier couches. We both loved our couches, as they were partially a wedding gift from Sarah and Paul, however we were both up for looking into a microfiber set. The plan was to sell the current set before purchasing a new one....we after several attempts and failed attempts we finally sold them!!! That was on a Tuesday.... so then we began our search. We looked everywhere! We picked out our top 4, but just couldn't agree on any of them. Finally we picked one out, mainly because our rear ends hurt after spending 8 days sitting on the floor...hahahahaha After we brought it home and got it situated we are really pleased with our choice! What do you think?!

Kayden is 12 weeks old now and is super awesome. He continues to grow and learn each day. He is really starting to talk, however every time I try to get it on film, he either goes silent or manages to get the hiccups!! He is still trying to sleep through the night, but last night he slept for 6 hours!!! Hooo-rray!!!!! Thats the most sleep I've gotten in a loooong time! All babies have their own schedule, so we're just going with the flow :)

Chewing on my hands is my new thing

I love my daddy!

And sometimes I'll let mom sleep.....(this is what exhaustion looks like)

But at least I'm adorable when I sleep

Off to take a nap!

Do I look like my daddy?

So everyone who see's Kayden lately has been saying he is looking like his daddy. We don't see it as much as everyone else, but I'm sure that's because we're around him 24/7.
Kayden is doing great as always. He is just one happy baby! He loves to stand up and is really starting to coo. We carry on conversations quite frequently. And he has been rolling onto his side....so he's almost to where he can roll over! He is our big boy!!

The smiley big boy!

We did loose our babysitter last Friday, but thankfully we do have someone to watch both Kayden and Nash until school starts....until then the search for a babysitter continues. But I'm totally content quitting if we don't find anyone....my boss doesn't agree with me teasing to quit though ;)
Hope to see everyone soon!

Kayden, Brett & Rachel
