Handyman

Sometimes I don't know where the time goes....between work, grad school, Kayden and Brett it would be nice if things could just slow down. Thats the best part about the weekends, when Kayden and I can play, go visit dad at work and just enjoy our time together as a family. =) Its the BEST part of the week!

Kayden is becoming quite the little character, and he is a sponge! He is imitating everything we do and picks up on some of the most random things! The other day I was  in the bathroom and grabbed toilet paper to blow my nose, so he goes to the roll and pulls some off and wipes his nose! He also loves tools! Brett was working on something the other day and had a screwdriver. Kayden threw a fit until he could have it, and then when he got it, he started to "work". Here's a video of it!

Kayden the handyman

I bought some to go applesauce thinking Kayden might like it....He LOVED it!

We stopped by Braums for milk and Kayden had to have an apple....at least its healthy!

A tad short...

We cut Kaydens hair on Sunday, and cut it a tad short! At least hair grows back right?

Whats been going on?

Sorry its been so long....things just seem to get busier and busier, and my blog gets farther and farther away! But we're still HERE!!!

Lets see....on Labor Day we were able to go to the zoo! The weather was perfect and despite the crowds we had a great time. And Marnie came with us too, which was wonderful! The only animals that Kayden really got to see up close were the gorillas, and the swan paddle boats...lol. We all had fun, maybe next time we go the animals will be more active!

Then the past week has been basically normally with school, work, and everything else. Kayden is learning a lot. He's a sponge just soaking up everything he can learn. Its cute to watch him figure things out, like how to unplug cords and plug them back in, or opening the doors and going outside or just doing the same things mom and dad are doing. He's a joy to watch...most of the time ;) I think he's got a bit of both our ornry sides in him....hehehe. Here are some pics from my phone (not the best quality but its what I've got....)

What a week!

Wow...this week has been anything but dull to say the least...

Last Thursday we found out that Brett's grandfather, Papa Lee, had passed. So this weekend was spent in preparation for a quick trip to Afton, OK on Monday and Tuesday. Monday was the visitation and then we had a big family dinner. Tuesday was the funeral, which was beautiful. Papa Lee was a very loved person and its comforting to know he is in a better place. Funerals are such sad occasions, but its always great to see (and meet) family. During our down time, we had a great time just chatting with Aunts, Uncles and cousins. I met a whole new side of Brett's family and I'm so thankful for that! We had a great time just talking and getting to know each other. Thankfully Kayden was amazing during all of the funeral events! He was a fabulous stress reliever and was a great distraction. :) Kayden is actually named after his Papa Lee!
Papa Lee you will be missed but never forgotten! Love you!

The rest of the week, we have just kept it simple. Kayden is back at daycare and loving every minute of it. You can see how much fun he's been having in this picture...

This would be shaving cream.... (better them than me!)

Brett is gearing up for football season which starts tomorrow, and I'm trying to balance the jobs of two supervisors. I think we are all looking forward to a three day weekend!!!!
