Gingerbread Train

Over thanksgiving RahRah and KK picked out a gingerbread train to decorate since Kayden loves trains. Well.....needless to say we never exactly go around to decorating it. So I thought maybe we'll put it together Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. I laid it out on the counter and ..... nope. Never did it. Finally last night we weren't very busy so I decided it was time.

Kayden was sooo excited! He kept wanting to eat the candy as we got it all set up, but thankfully never did. But he loved putting the pieces together and decorating was his favorite. Probably because each piece he put on, he got icing on his fingers which meant he licked his fingers between every piece! He's very proud of his choo choo!!

Decorating

Look I got icing on my fingers!

Guess I'll lick it off!

ALL DONE!

Kayden's masterpiece!

He wanted to be in the picture =)
Isn't his choo choo awesome!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

We hope all of you had a great Christmas! Kayden sure did! Brett came over early Christmas morning, and we opened presents, ate cinnamon rolls and played with our new toys. Kayden enjoyed opening all of the presents under the tree :) He would open one, want to play and then move on to another. Now we have all these new toys to play with!

My new craft to hang our stockings!

He was very intense about checking out his new movies

I told him to put the bow on Brett's head, and then I go to take a picture and Kayden physically turned Brett's head so he would look at the camera. :) It was adorable!

The rest of the day was spent in pajamas just playing with our new toys and enjoying the day off!

Playdough!

And here are some daycare pictures from the week before Christmas.

Enjoying snacks on pajama day

On pajama day, they got to watch a special movie. The 2year olds were a little impatient and watched with the 1year old class over the fence....How cute are they???

Something is fishy.....

So with the spirit of Christmas and Kayden's love of animals I decided it would be fun to get him a pet. However with baby sister on the way and our landlords rules, a dog was out of the picture. So we decided on something small.......a fish!

Here's how things go when getting a fish:

1. Go to the pet store and look at all the different fish. Kayden loved them all! However this was his favorite......

There's no way we were getting a turtle....

2. Buy a tank and set it up.

3. Get someone excited about having a fishy!!!

He was super excited before there was even a fish!

However I'm not sure its in the best spot.......turd.

4. And lastly.....get a fish or 3!!!! Here are our new family members!

He's in love!!!

Fishy 1, 2 & 3!!!

School Christmas Party

Last week Kayden had his class Christmas party. Of course it was open for parents to join. Kayden's class is so cute at this age! When I got there they were enjoying some snacks, and then we played and took our gifts with us, so as not to cause too much chaos. While we were hanging out, his friend Marian took her mom's phone and was playing photographer. Which only meant that Kayden wanted my phone to take his own set of pictures. So needless to say.....all of the pictures are from his point of view.

But when I wanted a picture of us....he refused...

School Pictures!

I didn't think we would get these back so quickly, but we did!! And we just had winter pictures done, but they aren't the same as the corny school pictures. This kid is adorable!!!! Brett was amazed they got him to sit like a big boy. We only got so many, so we divided them up as equally as we could....check your mail soon! (I'll try to have them out tomorrow!)

The basic school picture

Christmas themed picture

My favorite!!!

Quirky little boy

Kayden sure does have his own way of doing things and wants things done his way. We're going to have to work on that one before baby sister gets here!
Example:
He has learned how to open the refridgerator. Not a big deal, unless he wants something such as juice. I keep crystal light made in a 2qt pitcher. Well someone thought they could lift the pitcher when it was completely full! That made for a fun clean up.
I love his independence, but some days....Nap time should be much MUCH longer! ;)

Shaving cream at school!

We got Christmas presents in the mail and one of them was bubble wrapped....Kayden had fun learning what bubble wrap does!

The other morning I get up to take a shower...Kayden is fast asleep.
I get halfway through my shower and I hear toys....He wanted to play near me.

Cute kid!

We had cinnamon rolls this weekend....and he decided it was too messy, so he ate without his hands

It was quite funny to watch.

We went to the park this weekend and along comes another little boy, named Caden who was 5. Well Caden had a 12volt gator.....Kayden was in HEAVEN! I was a tad nervous but the other mom was close by, so........

Kayden and Caden got to go for a ride :)

Then someone had a haircut!

Cheesin with daddy last week =)

Trying to ride our new bike! When did he get so big??????
(we still need dad to come tweak the chain....hopefully this week!)

A visit with Santa!

Last night my friend Andrea and I decided to take our kids to see Santa! Andrea's daughter is 15 months, so we figured this might be interesting with two young kids, but it was totally worth it.

So we get to the location and walk inside and both kids seem intrigued by this guy in a red suit with a beard. First Andrea takes Reagan up to Santa. She was fine in her arms, but the second she attempted to hand Reagan off to Santa, this child screamed bloody murder! It was hilarious and definitely worth the picture. She was quickly comforted and taken back into mom's arms. No harm done. ;)

Not so sure about this Santa thing....

Then it was Kayden's turn. I asked him if he wanted to go up the steps to talk to Santa and he tells me no and tries to go the other way! I pick him up and walk up the stairs and the whole time he's saying no, daddy... Too bad daddy wasn't there to save him! We get to Santa and he asks for a high five, so I give him a high five which makes Kayden think its ok, so he does it! Then we stand next to Santa to tell him what we want for Christmas and Kayden agreed to give Santa two hugs (he was hesitant, but he still did it!)

How'd you get me up here mom??

Telling Santa what we want for Christmas
(They were video taping, hence the microphone)

I'll give you a hug Santa

HUGS!

Overall a good experience for both kids. Maybe next year, they will actually want to see Santa.....maybe....
